Day 8: Mostly travel

We woke up Wednesday, finished packing, and went downstairs for our final continental breakfast at the hotel. Then, we took the metro to the end of the line and picked up the bus towards the airport. We made it through all of the lines and our flight was on-time! We didn't take many pictures on this last day, but here is the meal we got on the plane. It wasn't very filling, but we had brought cookies and granola bars!

We were supposed to have a 5 hour layover at JFK airport in New York. However, there were mechanical problems with the plane we were supposed to take back to Chicago, so this ended up being an 8 hour layover. We could not believe how friendly all of the airport employees in New York were! It was such a pleasant experience, until the delay.

We finally made it back to Chicago, where my dad was waiting to take us back home. We arrived at our house a little after 2 in the morning, said a quick hello to our pets, and went to bed.

We had a fantastic time and can't wait for our next trip. At this point, we're still discussing when/where that will be!
